I'm sorry, hon. You don't need this. Taking it in right away was probably the best way to get it taken care of quickly and well.
You see, last week my sister was finishing up exams for her 3rd semester of veterinary school. She was pretty busy and pretty stressed. Her roommate has been balking at making household repairs but just bought a second huuuuge TV for her own room. Bad money choices. Then roommate's bitchy little Boston terrier got into a fight and got an abrasion across her eye.
My sister said on Monday, "take the dog in promptly, abrasions like the one she has get bad fast, she could lose an eye and anyway she's clearly suffering." Roommate dithered and asked how much it would cost and asked whether my sister could lie and say the dog was hers and get discounted treatment at school, and my sis was in the middle of EXAMS mind you. By Thursday dog had large abscess and roommate made plans to take dog in on Friday, by Friday the vet said she could do nothing and sent them to a veterinary ER to have the eye removed.
Thank you for not being the dithery in-denial-about-money pet owner my sister's roommate is.
The dog, by the way, is home, wearing a cone, and charging the other dogs anyway. Gigi would be a great dog if she were trained, instead she's an incredible pain.
