amethyst73It's been a pleasantly quiet vacation. We've spent a lot of time sleeping, skating, and hanging about the house playing games or reading or... whatever we feel like doing. I feel a little bad that I haven't practiced more, finished transcribing a particular piece into a MIDI file, done the massive cleaning of the bedroom like I planned, but I realized about halfway through that this vacation was going to be a Vacation. You know, doing precious little besides what one wishes to do. With the year I've had, I believe I deserve it. As a result, I've played Crystal Bearers just about every day, am in the last room in Portal, have re-read Harry Potter #7 up to the point where the recent film stops, re-read Magic By The Lake, sat with cats, and generally just rested. It has been needed, and will have been needed, especially since I really need to get a move on with the job hunt thing next week.
One project that took me by surprise was that I've submitted my first-ever FAQ to GameFaqs. It's an in-depth one about the accessories in the game - how to make them, how they affect your stats, and perhaps best of all, how to produce accessories that give bonus abilities (take less damage, regain health faster, don't slip on ice, etc). It's something that the boards have seemed to want for a while, and I've gotten at least a partial list of how to derive these special accessories from the regular ones. It hasn't been posted yet, but I'm hoping it'll appear after the new year. I think it's got a good chance; there aren't that many FAQs for the game, and this one addresses a previously un-covered area.
Can I have another couple of weeks of vacation, please? It would be really nice...
