Movies and the like

We went to see Kung Fu Panda 2 today as part of a campaign to miss the worst of today's heat. The movie itself was really pretty good, but sitting through the ads and previews before was trying - not least because they were, as usual, too dratted loud. I want the brain cells back that died in the trauma of the trailer for The Zookeeper. And Disney and/or Pixar has changed for the worse: Lightning McQueen and the gang are now peddling for Target and State Farm.  I am deeply saddened.

That said, Panda really was fun. Someone really liked LOTR; there were a number of scenes that got borrowed straight from them. But that's okay. Go see it if you like kung fu movies, animated movies, our movies that portray peacocks as evil.
