Boy, driving in Massachusetts when you're used to driving in California is really annoying. The combination of lots of nonstandard intersections, no left-turn-only lanes anywhere, and drivers who all know much better than you is kind of painful.

Drivers in Massachusetts also tend to be pretty aggressive, perhaps because the overall speed of travel is so low, and they're eager to take whatever opportunity or tiny bit of advantage they can get. In North Carolina, on the other hand, the overall speed of traffic is much, much higher, and drivers tend to be pretty easygoing and considerate.

Same in California - highway speed limit is 65, and most everyone goes faster than that but not aggressively so.
