YAY on the new job! And double-yay for being able to continue carpooling and otherwise economizing by having two people in one household working in basically the same place. Hopefully this will be a major net win in terms of stress. ^_^
As for the irritation-by-bandage thing, I could easily believe it. One thing I will say is, if the problem persists more than a week or so, please try to get a dermatology referral -- I can say from personal experience that GPs are often bad at diagnosing/treating certain kinds of skin conditions that can become chronic if left untended.
