Safe in Boston/Belmont etc. Huz brought a liveboot CD with Fedora on it for my folks' computer. It is somewhat useful in that their old machine seems to have an easier time runinng Unix than running Windows Whatever. It is annoying in that (1) it doesn't wake up properly from whatever they call the sleep mode (drive runs, mouse is somewhat moveable but not click-active), and (2) it's a complete waste of time trying to either bookmark pages in Firefox (because they'll get forgotten the next time I reboot) or install plugins (ditto). *sigh*
Dad seems to be doing pretty well. Watches a lot of TV when he's home, but that's better than spending all his time lying in bed. I am tired, and it is raining.
In other news... Early happy birthday,
jab2 !
