Huh. Can't edit posts once posted, it appears?

We're fine! Evacuation orders for Scotts Valley were lifted a week after being imposed. We returned Friday 8/28. Our house and property were completely fine. The cats recovered from the trauma of being boarded after a few days. So that's all right.

There are, of course, hundreds of families who have lost their homes. I've already made small donations to a couple of recovery operations. I'm assuming the county will put together some sort of recovery fund and I'll give a larger donation to that.

We're extremely fortunate, and extremely grateful.

You should totally be able to edit a post once posted! No little edit symbol at the bottom while logged in?

So glad to hear you folks and your home are okay.

We have clean air here once again much to my relief. While awareness and gratitude are wonderful, I would like to be able to take some things for granted, like being able to go outside.

Oh yeah, there it is! It's a somewhat inscrutable icon... I think LiveJournal had text links for 'edit entry' etc, but now I know where it is. Thanks!

Being able to go outside is definitely a Good Thing. I'm glad it's possible for you guys again! (We also had several days where it just wasn't smart to be outside without a mask.. sigh.. but we're also back into the range of it being okay to breathe on one's own!)
