Number of reekfish caught before figuring out that I was supposed to learn its scent rather than attempt to add it to my inventory: 3.

Number of attempts required to complete the snowboarding run: 5.

(The snowboarding itself was fun.  What Nintendo really ought to have done, though, was give you an option for getting off the snowboard/ice-thing at the beginning of the run, rather than - as far as I could tell - forcing you to keep trying till you ran out of hearts.)

Number of chests opened in Snowpeak that were supposed to contain the Boss Key but instead contained a soup ingredient: 1 (just as an indicator of where I am).

Number of minutes spent in the snowy courtyard with the cannon, trying to use just bombs in the cannon to destroy the (apparently otherwise invulnerable) nasty ice-creature blocking the doorway, before figuring out that there was another way I could go: Er, many.  Probably 7-10.

Number of attempts required to successfully navigate the room that had the Compass chest in it: 5.  (Three of those attempts involved slipping off the same icy bit of rafter.)

I've enjoyed Snowpeak so far!  There was a strangled cry of "What??" that escaped my mouth when I opened a chest and found a pumpkin - that was a well-done bit of story.  Themes appear to be Sokoban-like sliding block puzzles, and cannons.  (For which you need cannonballs!)  I hope that Mrs. Yeti feels better soon.  Hopefully all the monsters and bad stuff will go away when I've removed the mirror piece from the premises, and the happy couple can live in the Snowpeak Mansion in peace.
