Master and Commander

We watched it this weekend, admittedly some years after its theatrical release.  We enjoyed it.  I think it can be reasonably well summarized thusly:

Russell Crowe bears a striking resemblance to William Shatner.

'Nuff said.

Somehow I'm having a hard time reading this as a ringing endorsement. Perhaps I shall continue to give it a miss.

Any chance of seeing you this week?

Oh, don't get me wrong - it's lots of fun. Besides, you'd likely quite enjoy the "This is what surgery in 1805 was like" scenes, including one of the ship's doctor operating on himself.

As to later this week... alas, probably no. It's another crazy-busy week. I'll let you know if things start looking up later in the week; Friday is the only possibility, and that's very vague indeed.

That would mean Spock is... Irish?

Yup! Actually, the huz and I rather thought that that character was a combo of both Spock and McCoy (maybe kind of like Star Trek III - which I hafta admit I never actually saw, just read the novelization of).
