Quick question for Wii owners

So, we just bought a copy of Paper Mario: 1000-Year Door used (-10% discount - probably about the last use of our GameStop membership) - not that we're likely to get to it for a while.  Wii owners, riddle me this: Do we need to go find a GameCube memory card to play/save GameCube games?

And you're right. The game functions perfectly well, but saving cannot be done. Happily, it looks like GameCube memory cards are pretty inexpensive.
